In accordance with the UAE government initiatives of paperless through digitizing transactions and documents by accepting digital invoicing, Federal law no.1 of 2006 on Electronic commerce and transactions applies to electronic records, documents and signatures that relate to electronic transactions and gives recognition of their use including electronic invoicing.
VAT Article (59)(8) - The Executive Regulations states that a Taxable Person may issue a tax invoice by electronic means. The Taxable Person is capable of securely storing a copy of the electronic tax invoice in compliance with the record keeping requirements and the authenticity of origin and integrity of the electronic tax invoice is guaranteed.
